What helps you cope?

Is there something that helps you cope with your ovarian cancer, treatment, or side effects?

  1. Keeping busy with activities such as volunteer work at church; belief in prayer; playing cards with friends, etc. In other words staying busy and trying not to dwell on medical issues. But, when I receive a good report things certainly improve.

    1. Thank you for your warm wishes. We traveled this week to Chgo...not a good time to head to Chgo from FL! But, to visit with a small portion of family.
I've been pretty good. Last CT was good. but admittedly my maintenance drug, Letrozole, is beginning to cause bone pain and weight gain. That weight sure comes back fast!!! Dr said if pain gets really bad can stop drug for 2 weeks but to me that is scary and pain is tolerable...just not fun!! I continue to try to keep busy.
      Thank you for reaching out.

    2. , I'm glad you got to spend some time with family, I know NY has some lake effects snow - did that impact Chicago at all?

I'm glad your scan is looking good! Sending love and light for that to continue. I'm sorry to hear your maintenance drug causes some pain. That's a terrible trade off - but I'm glad it is doing it's job. Yes, weight is a hateful thing - so quick to come and so resistant to leaving! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! - Warmly, Donna (Team Member)

  2. My hobby of quilting helps keep me focused on the project and not dwell on the cancer.

    1. , yes, I love that pattern! Your treatment of it is exquisite! -Warmly, Donna (Team Member)
