  3. Stage 1C Endometriod Adenocarcinoma

    1. Hi . It's been a while since you posted. I wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Did you have surgery or any other treatment for your Stage 1C endometriod adenocarcinoma? How are you feeling? Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. Thanks for checking in. I did have surgery and chemo when diagnosed in 2017. I did well with no extraordinary difficulty. I remained NED with no maintenance therapy until 2020 when a tiny nodule by my colon was found on CT. A laparoscopy could not access the nodule well enough to remove it, but a biopsy confirmed cancer. An abbreviated course of chemo was planned and was very effective until I had a severe life- threatening carbo reaction. At that point , my surgeon opened me up to remove what remained of the nodule. No other cancer was found. PARP Inhibitors are not very effective for my subtype of OC so given risk/ benefit, I chose no maintenence therapy. In 2022 I had robotic surgery for an incisional hernia that resulted from previous surgeries. I am coming up on 5 years NED since surgery for my recurrance.I'm hoping my routine CT in a few weeks continues to be ok. Other than some mild toe and finger peripheral neuropathy that is just my new normal, I have no residual issues from treatment. I consider myself very fortunate and am doing quite well with my 75th birthday coming up in October. I attribute my generally good health to an OC subtype with a better prognosis than most, early diagnosis and maintaining the healthful practice of a Whole Food Plant- Based diet( not always perfectly. ) that is anti- inflammatory, full of antioxidants and micronutrients and immune supporting.
Wishing all my Teal sisters well.
