Have you experienced survivor's guilt?

When someone you know dies from the same cancer you have or had, it can bring up a lot of feelings. You might feel guilty or confused as to why you are the one still alive. Guilt is a normal feeling after cancer, and many survivors find themselves dealing with it. Have you experienced survivor's guilt? How do you cope with it?

  1. I believe most of us do. It is best to focus on your own journey and healing! No two cancers, treatments or patients are the same. People can have other factors and conditions that lead to them dying too. And what I also have learned is that all of us are not fighting to survive. Some choose to go! We have to be at peace with where we are and that alone. It's not easy but very necessary. ~Leya Elijah - Team Member~

    1. I have absolutely felt guilty in regards to being a survivor. However, remembering we all have different journeys with cancer helps me process the feelings I have. Also, being a part of this community has helped me cope tremendously. - Catherine (Advancedovariancancer.net Team Member)
